Updated Life

Okay Jess, you see, I did finally post again. :) Just to catch you up on the details, if I haven't told you already. I'm working at a school teaching science, basically I'm the instructor for seventh and eighth grade science. The catch is that it's a private school (since I don't have my teaching certificate I can't teach in public schools yet), and it focuses on students with language learning differences. So for a variety of reasons our students have difficulty processing either the written, reading, or oral parts of the English language. The classes are small (thank goodness) and our kids usually have a range of other impulse and attention issues, so teaching is exciting. :) They are all bright, intelligent kids, but they keep me on my toes. I'm definitely learning as I go, as well as working on all the certification in special education programs I have to finish to work there.

The other big news is that I'm flying back to MI this weekend for Joann and Jim's wedding. I'm sure that I'll have a ton of photos and will post some of them. I'm hoping to catch some nice fall photos to put on your photo blog. The colors here in Jersey are just starting to change a little, hopefully with some cooler weather it will start to look and feel more like fall. Then I can go get my pumpkin to carve and all the candy for the neighborhood trick or treaters. This seems like the neighborhood where we could be pretty busy. I'm sure the kids here bring in a haul, that keeps them sugar fueled until Thanksgiving. :)

Baby Chick

Okay, so I didn't take this picture. I haven't even seen the new baby chick yet. My mom sent me this photo in the mail and it made me laugh. My parents have two chickens, one is a very large red and green rooster, your typical looking rooster. The other is a guinea hen, they are super tiny. Jenny went out the the coop one day and found that one of the hen's eggs had hatched, and this little guy was the result. I think he's uber cute, but what really makes me laugh is the background in the photo. I know those are my dad's hands, and that green coat is his barn coat, but in the background is their bedroom dresser. LOL. They brought the chick inside for its photoshoot! Bet it never counted on the celebrity treatment. :)

Noobie Blogger

I'm quite excited to be entering into the world of blogging. For those of you who enter into my world, be warned. This blog will consists primarily of me search for a job, my forays into the world of knitting, and my family, which right now consists of my hubby Steve, my hamster hammie ham, and my two geckos- girl gecko and boy gecko.

We've just packed up and moved from the flatness that is central Ohio, to New Jersey which is if nothing else, much greener. I think it will be a beautiful place to live.

Today we went on the search for a new car for Steve, he has his heart set on a Audi A4, so we spent some time test driving, and man does the Audi have a smooth ride. We also drove a Jetta which kind of felt like manuvering a cardboard box after the Audi. So hopefully we will have something new to drive in soon. Then the honda will be all mine to use and abuse.

Other things we're looking forward to in the next month are visits with family and friends. Soon I will be going Maine, which is exciting, but I will be there visiting my friend Jess and her family which makes it outta this world exciting, I can't wait. You will definately hear more about that later. My parents, and my sister will hopefully be traveling to visit us here in Jersey soon too, so they will get to see the highlights of the Garden State. We'll keep you updated about our new digs and our adventures.
